I'd say 'made himself lower'. Rather than grasping at was rightfully his (equality with God) , he made himself lower than the angels (his created beings) and lived life as a man with all the weaknesses we have . The purpose of Christmas is repeated again st Easter when he humbled himself again and suffered the humiliation and pain of the cross, putting his own needs lower than ours and dying our death. Christmas and Easter can't be separated. One is the fulfilment of the other. The one fantastic purpose of God to offer all people relationship with him as true sons and daughters. We can follow his example by making ourselves lower and his purposes higher this Christmas as we seek the help of his in dwelling Holy Spirit to meet the needs of others we come close to. As we do this, God is pleased as we are acting in faith that he will meet our need. Thankyou Jesus for 'making yourself lower' 💓
